Client
European Decorative Lighting Brand
Project Brief
A European decorative lighting brand approached us with an early concept for a wall-mounted luminaire. While the core design language had already been established, the client wanted to explore how the concept could evolve beyond a single product and become the foundation for a broader lighting collection.
The objective was not only to develop a manufacturable wall lamp, but also to create a scalable design platform capable of supporting future product variations.
The Challenge
The challenge extended beyond engineering a standalone luminaire. The client wanted to establish a cohesive lighting family that could be adapted across different product categories while maintaining a consistent aesthetic identity, construction methodology, and user experience.
The project required careful consideration of component standardisation, manufacturing efficiency, and design scalability to ensure future product extensions could be developed efficiently without compromising quality or brand consistency.
Our Approach
Starting from the client's original concept, our engineering and design teams refined the product architecture and evaluated multiple construction methods to identify the most effective long-term solution.
Rather than treating the project as a single-product development exercise, we approached it as the foundation of a broader collection. By developing common design principles, engineering standards, and shared components, we created a scalable platform capable of supporting multiple luminaires while maintaining a unified visual language.
The Outcome
What began as a wall-mounted luminaire evolved into a complete lighting family that was later extended to include wall, table, and pendant versions.
The result was a cohesive product collection that strengthened the client's product offering while benefiting from streamlined engineering, efficient manufacturing processes, and consistent brand identity across multiple applications.
This project demonstrates our ability to help lighting brands expand a single idea into a complete product family, creating scalable solutions that support long-term growth and future product development.
